I have been working really hard on my website orders, my kids birthdays (yes... all 3 of them within weeks of each other), and the FUNKY JUNK SISTER's Show! Something else that has also been thrown in there is that we are finally moving into our place. Lots of painting, cleaning, and moving =)
Next week is the big FUNKY JUNK SISTER's Show! We are doing a special girl's night out (men can come too) this will be a fun event! We have a PINK tree that we are doing a raffle which will benefit breast cancer awareness.. there will also be giveaways.. and some yummy treats! Buy your tickets before hand, so you can get right in.
Saturday it all starts again! We have some special guest coming on the JUNK BUS... Timi has some wonderful ladies coming from up North wanting to get some great junk! They should have a great time... because Timi is a hoot! We are opening up at 8 am with an Early Bird entry. From 10 am on is our discounted entry price.

We have some awesome vendors... some people who have never even done a show before, but let me tell you that we have seen their junk and you will be happy to see them there. This will for sure be the best show of the year!

The Mad Hatter Flea!

These girls have done a wonderful job of changing the Old 5 mile grange into something fantabulous! The girls I am talking about are the Junebug Furniture & Design. When I lived up on top of the 5 mile.. I did many yard sales and they would be there trying to score the next find. I love their style and taste!!!
We think they should come and do our show so you could experience what I have! So, write them at junebugfurnitureanddesign.blogspot.com and tell them they should do our show too!
This is what you saw as soon as you walked though the doors! WOW! Sparkle and Shine!!!

These bags lined a window seal... stinkin' cute!
I think this was another one of their booths that was down stairs.
The popcorn wrappers are a great idea!
They did a wonderful job of picking vendors... everyone complemented each other. Antie Joy and Luluz was there. I met the ladies of Chaps and also Serena of the Farm Chicks. I would of had more pics, however, I was to busy talking..lol When they have their next show... you will not want to miss it =)

Barn Barn Baby!

Last weekend we took a little drive to Rathdrum, Idaho... to see one of my favorite barn sales. The Vintage Barn! I was at her first one just a few years ago and I think she might of had 3 other people besides herself
The end of summer sale had about 50 vendors... each one was just eye candy for me. You will have to go to her website www.barnbarnbaby.com to mark your calendar for next years sales.

This was so cool! If I had a place to put it right now... I would of bought it!
I just loved the colors mixed with the rust!
I never knew rakes looked so cool!
I have a fetish with schwinn bikes... Love them!
This would make a great island for a kitchen! It just might show up at our show... From Ann Caster of Nestting.
These were also at Ann's booth! She also does more shows from her Fire Station! How cool is that?!This was from the Junebug booth! I would show you more, however, my sister wants to blog about the show too.
Don't forget about the Funky Junk Sister's Show!
You need to buy tickets to the GIRL'S NIGHT OUT on October 23rd... we are raising money for breast cancer awareness! Help support a great cause...!!!

Fabulous Friends!!!

My friend from grade school came to visit me this weekend with her daughter! I was so excited because in the last 20 years this is the first time I had a friend from school come visit for the whole weekend =) So, I had to make this some what of a fun weekend for all of us.
First off... I put my hubby on food patrol! He gathered all the fixins for the whole weekend. He had to do it up right because I bragged about how much of a wonderful cook he was. Plus, this way I don't have to cook...hehehe!
Next, was planning fun activities to do up here in Indianola. This was a little bit easier then I thought it would be...
My friend Liz of "Seabold Vintage" was putting on her flea market this weekend in Bainbridge Island. That was a must see! Before we went to the flea market we had to check out the shops in Winslow (which is on Bainbridge too). There is one paper store that had the funniest glasses that her daughter could not resist to purchase for her friend back home. They reminded me of glasses that Elton John would wear back in the day. Then we hit the flea market! Of course I was talking about our next show that the Funky Junk Sister's will be having in October to everyone. There was some great stuff there. Liz's stuff was awesome as usual!
It looked like everyone was having a great time... wheeling and dealing in each booth.
We also toured around Poulsbo. Hit the fabulous bakery that they have there... yummy! Of course I am still doing the diet thing.. so, I got a healthy cookie (if there is such a thing) it had pumpkin seeds, flax, and some other health stuff. It was pretty good. I think it was called "Grandpa's Cookies". My friend's daughter had a yummy looking pull apart... I just wanted to take it out of her hands it looked so good! Ok, enough about food because I will probably go raid the fridge if I keep talking about it!The nights consisted of sitting out on the back deck enjoying a nice warm fire... drinking a few adult drinks.. and thinking about how much I have missed this. We had a lot of fun talking about the good ol' days and people that we have seen over the years. Our 20 year reunion is next summer and we can't wait to catch up with everyone!

On To The Next Show!

We have made it official! Our next show is in October... The first event was a huge success!!! By the end of the show everyone was asking when the next one will be. After working out the football schedule around my sister's house (she has all boys). This seemed to be the perfect date! We are doing a Girls Night Out which will be based around fundraising to save the ta-ta's! What a wonderful way to shop and support a great cause. We are also offering an early bird special on Saturday for those die hard shoppers! There have been a few changes which we think are for the better. Mark your calendars for the BIG EVENT! The holidays are just around the corner and this is the place to get your one of a kind gifts!!! Checkout the Funky Junk Sister's Blog and FunkyJunkSisters.com

Time for Bed!

If you came to the Funky Junk Sister's Show you would of seen the 2 benches that I made out of twin beds. Today I was checking out some DIY projects and came across a few more favorites. Most of these beds can be found at estate & garage sales, craiglist, or goodwill. Whenever I find one and it is a great price or FREE (is even better)... I just have to get it!
Beautiful old headboards are being tucked away to gather cobwebs, when they can be restored to a new and lovely life. Don't forget to bring them into the light of day. Rebuild and re-love them.

Use can just about use them anywhere... in the garden

made in different styles... this one took a lot of effort.

I kind of like the old chippy paint ones...

This one would go great in my house!
